This image of the dandelion clock sums up how I see the church….His Church. We are joined in Jesus portrayed in the heart and centre of the dandelion….We come together to worship and then to grow through His word, teaching and our personal life experiences.. In Him, The Heart we are united… and then in God’s time through the Spirit we are released to do His work.
The truth is, God has no hands. The only way for God to get things done in the world is through human hands, our hands. We are the hands of God to reach out and serve and make a difference in the lives of others. The power to help, the power to heal, the power to make a difference in the world is in our hands.
At the same time like the words of this song are illustrated through the dandelion clock.
Wind blow on me;
Wind, Wind set me free!
Wind, Wind my father sent
The blessed Holy Spirit.
When you have a desire to see life from a different perspective and not that of the world and to try and hold societies values and consumer culture at arms length, I think there is a sense of release. Freedom almost, that there is a different way, you do not have to conform and get tied up and trapped in things that we do not really see as important…
I ask Lord Jesus, set us free, to be who you made us to be. Build us up and send us out. Let us recognise the freedom we have in you. We can so easily pass by opportunities that you have for us, help us to be more alert to Your voice and make the time for the opportunities you present to us, to bless others and receive blessings you have for us. We want you to put on our hearts your plans for us and want to be your hands here on earth.
Set us free to live for others,
That the world the Son might see
And Jesus’ name exalted be.
Wind, blow on me.
Wind, wind set me free!
Wind, wind the Father sent
The blessed Holy Spirit.

Batik and hand embellishment
These pieces are inspired by the thought of Victorian walled gardens, with many garden rooms, with collections of different plants, shrubs and trees…Rooms of fragrance, rooms of flavour, rooms of colour and beauty, rooms of texture, rooms of remedy and medicinal, rooms of sculptural forms and rooms for sensory adventures. Each one created by the expert, knowing how to cultivate and nurture and knowing each specimen by name…
I Liken this to our heavenly Father knowing you, me and us….We are all unique specimens, no two people the same, similar perhaps but totally individual. Each room has been prepared for us….He prepares us and cultivates and nurtures us for what He has planned for us. He has prepared a place for us…
Enter His gates with thanks giving and praise….
“The Spirit of Hope.” Textile applique – September 2013
Please lord, keep calling me back to you, by day and by night, in joy and in sadness, during moments of success and moments of failure. Never let me leave you. I know you walk with me. Help me walk with you today, tomorrow and always.
Let me always live under Your cross, O Lord, and proclaim the hope through the spirit of your cross unceasingly……..
You have made all things new through your sacrifice. Your cross has been planted in this world as the sign of new hope….
I love God’s word. I am often being surprised over and over again, how something just jumps out to me. No other book compares to the Bible. It is the living and active word of God here and now. No matter how many times you have read the Bible and passages, it always reveals new things. I was going over this particular passage in Matthew 5:
“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven. (Matthew 5: 14-16, MSG)
It’s the familiar passage about being the salt and the light in the world. I’ve always liked it, agreed with it and tried to apply it. But this Message version just opened up something new to me.
“You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world.”
That’s what we are called to do! God created a colourful, beautiful world for us to enjoy. But unfortunately sin alters all the colours of His rainbow into a dull, grayish existence. We are to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world! The real colours of fun, joy and love are found in God alone. All the forced worldly ideas of fun, joy and love leave us in yucky-coloured mess.
The only way out of the colourless existence is through Jesus. We are called to shine God’s light to bring out the God-colours in the world. Life with the God-colours is beautiful. It is meant to be enjoyed and shared. God is not to be kept secret. We are to be generous with our God-colourful lives!
The pictures above are children cut outs that I am doing with a project and I thought they just illustrated this well….

WORK IN PROGRESS
Arts Award is a really brilliant vehicle to get children to discover and explore the arts. I have just loved being in Summerseat for the last 2 weeks working with some amazing children who are really exploring their world and discovering hidden talents. They have sketched, designed, researched and delved into many other art forms, as well as creating in ceramic and different textile techniques. Thanks to the great Art support from Steph O, the amazing teaching staff, the brilliant young artists, there are masterpieces in the making…watch this space……well done Class 4 2013…
The Blue Print
Well what an amazing 12 months…..CreateBolton found a home at Claremont House, Create@Claremont, the team has multiplied and the volunteers are growing in abundance. I knew God was going to grow teams in the name of CreateBolton, this was a vision He gave me many years ago… and it was a great milestone when two teams from CreateBolton went out into schools a couple of weeks ago, Steph O heading up one team and me another with our amazing volunteers…thank you God.
On that same note…I have just worked in a school doing an amazing project where the children did the blueprint for the designs, they followed those designs and then added splendid colours and embellishments. The result was spectacular, a bit like God’s plans for us! If we follow this process letting God’s plans be the blueprint and follow his word, the design unfolds. He colours it with amazing splendour, and embellishes it with the right people and resources at the right time…on reflection, even when the going gets tough, you can see that’s part of His plan to get you just where he wants you be…
